The deep
work.
How much work is a block? Scroll down. Start with one person and a pencil. End at the live floor of Quai's network. Every step is real, sourced, or measured on your own device.

You, with a pencil.
0.0000078H/sIn 2014 Ken Shirriff worked one round of SHA-256 with pencil and paper. It took about 16 minutes. A Bitcoin-style double hash is 128 rounds, about a day and a half of work, so a person at a desk manages roughly 0.67 hashes a day.

And that's one of three.
Quai takes work from three algorithms at once. SHA-256 is the one above. The other two, live:
Different algorithms, different hashes. A Scrypt or KawPoW hash costs a different amount of work than a SHA-256 hash, so these numbers do not compare to the floor in raw H/s, and they do not add up.
